World Neighbors an international community development organization is recruiting a Program Officer for its LAC regional programs. Based in Lima, Peru, and reporting to the Regional Associate Vice President, the program Officer is responsible for: providing strategic leadership for overall development, visibility and scaling up/out of World Neighbors programs in the LAC region through processes that strengthen the capacity of poor and marginalized rural communities as well as their organizations and institutions to meet their basic needs and determine and sustain an inclusive and equitable development process; participating in processes that enable World Neighbors to achieve its mission of inspiring people and strengthening communities to find lasting solutions to hunger, poverty and disease and to promote a healthy environment. This position involves travel to rural areas within the LAC region.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree or equivalent with 3 years of relevant experience or Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience
  • management level experience working with NGOs, community—based organizations (CBOs), networks, government agencies, etc.
  • participatory development experience with rural communities
  • experience in 2 of the following areas: sustainable agriculture, rural livelihoods, community-based natural resource management, community health, local capacity building, gender, climate change adaptation
  • experience managing teams
  • proficiency in English and Spanish; proficiency in French is a plus
